Solon, Ohio deploys municipal wireless network

Solon, Ohio (pop. 24,000), a municipality 20 miles east of Cleveland, has deployed a municipal wireless broadband network that offers free Wi-Fi access to residents. The WiFi hotzone is located around the Community Center and throughout public parks. The city plans to expand the network to cover the entire community at a low cost to the residents. The city is using Proxim’s mesh equipment; the network was designed by Radiant Networks.
