Obama to appoint Julius Genachowski FCC chairman

The Wall Street Journal reports that Barack Obama is set to nominate Julius Genachowski, who has served as Obama’s tech advisor, to chair the FCC. Genachowski attended Harvard Law School with Obama and worked as an executive at IAC/InterActive Corp. He is also the founder of LaunchBox Digital, a VC firm. The next FCC chairperson will have to deal with a lot of controversial issues involving the allocation of wireless frequencies, broadband competition (or lack thereof in the US), net neutrality, just to name a few.
